Black designer heels pair with everything from raw denim to a floor-length gown, which is why most people own them before any other colour. For the office, a kitten or mid block heel in smooth calfskin sits cleanly under tailored trousers. For evening, patent, velvet or embellished mesh catches the light where plain leather would disappear. Wipe calfskin with a dry cloth and brush velvet against the pile.
